7. Helicopter Services — Terms & Conditions
The following terms apply to all Chardham Yatra by Helicopter packages. All terms and conditions of the aviation company will also be applicable in addition to the points listed below.
7.1 General Helicopter Terms
- All flying will be carried out strictly within the rules stipulated by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Air Traffic Control.
- The helicopter will be used for legal activities only and shall not violate any government rules or regulations.
- In the interest of flight safety, the decision of the pilot / Chief of Operations will be final and undisputed regarding suitability of weather, fitness of take-off and landing helipads.
- Helicopter tickets can also be booked by the passenger directly through the official Chardham Yatra portal.
- Helicopter flying timings may vary due to weather conditions as per the aviation company's directions.
- The maximum seating capacity for helicopters is 6 passengers + 1 crew.
- Darshans at all Dhams will be priority darshans and not VIP darshans.
7.2 Passenger Weight Policy
- Passenger weight is critical in helicopter flying. Passengers must submit their correct weight at the time of booking.
- If any change in weight is found at the time of travel which would exceed the aircraft's weight carrying capacity of 450 kg, the passenger(s) will be deboarded and cancelled for the heli-tour without any refund.
- Passengers weighing above 75 kg will be charged ₹2,000 per kg over and above 75 kg. However, if 2 or more passengers in a group have an average weight of 75 kg, the extra charges will not apply.
- If any discrepancy is found in the declared weight at the time of weighing, a penalty of ₹20,000 will be imposed along with overweight charges. Flying of such passengers will be subject to permission from the aviation company.
7.3 Baggage & Seating
- Only one baggage weighing a maximum of 5 kg is allowed per passenger. Suitcases or other large luggage bags are not permitted in the helicopter.
- Due to limited weight carrying capacity, we reserve the right to shuffle passengers between helicopters. Passengers travelling together may not be accommodated in the same flight.
- Guests flying via helicopter may or may not fly in the same chopper, and we do not guarantee that they can do darshans together. This depends entirely on the helicopter service provider.
7.4 Weather & Schedule Disruptions
- Flying in the hills is subject to bad weather and many Force Majeure factors — including delayed Air Traffic Clearances/Permissions, VVIP movements, valley flying by Indian Air Force (NOTAM), sudden technical snags, illness of flying crew, or late reporting of passengers. Passengers must be prepared for any eventuality.
- If guests are unable to take the first flight from Dehradun to Yamunotri due to bad weather, we will try to accommodate them the next day. If the weather doesn't permit the next day as well, the trip will be cancelled and a refund will be given within 15 days after deducting accommodation, meals, transport charges at Dehradun, and flight planning charges of ₹15,000 per person.
- If guests get stuck at any Dham due to bad weather, we will attempt to fly them the next day. In such cases, two Dhams may need to be covered in a single day. For example, if guests are stuck at Gangotri, the next day will cover both Kedarnath and Badrinath, with the night halt at Badrinath instead of Kedarnath. This rule applies to all Dhams depending on where the disruption occurs.
- We strongly advise passengers to keep one additional day at hand in Dehradun to avoid inconvenience in case of weather delays or Force Majeure scenarios.
7.5 Child Policy (Helicopter)
- Children above the age of 2 years will be charged full ticket.
- Infants (below 2 years): ₹20,000 per infant.
7.6 Helicopter Payment Terms
- 50% deposit of the total amount at the time of booking.
- Balance payment must be deposited 15 days prior to the date of arrival in Dehradun.
- Passengers will not be permitted to board the flight or commence the tour unless full and final payment is completed by D-15.
- Travel voucher is valid only if full payment has been received by Spiritual Uttarakhand before the start of journey or as per the policy/agreement.

- Rescheduling is permitted only if applied 20 days before the journey date.
- If rescheduling is requested with less than 20 days to the journey, the booking will be treated as cancelled and non-refundable. A fresh booking can be made subject to availability with 100% advance payment.
7.9 Timings & Reporting
- This is a Daily Fixed Departure Helicopter tour. All departure timings are fixed. Passengers must report as per the scheduled ETDs (Estimated Time of Departure) at helipads throughout the tour. Failure to report on time will be considered a no-show with no refund.
- The Company reserves the right to change/postpone flying timings subject to weather or Force Majeure reasons.
- Passengers are advised to carry heavy woollen clothing, as temperatures can drop drastically during evenings and nights.
- Passengers are advised not to carry big suitcases as there is very limited baggage space inside the helicopter.
7.10 Partial Tour Completion
- If the journey is not completed within the stipulated time and passengers are unable to visit one or more Dhams due to bad weather or technical reasons, the Company will attempt to cover all places within the available time. If this is not possible, the Company's liability will be limited to a refund of the unutilized sectors only.
8. Things to Carry
All passengers are advised to carry the following items for the Chardham Yatra:
- Light woollen cap & clothes
- Sports shoes (comfortable walking shoes)
